Here are my day 30 Insanity results pictures. Most of the changes I can only tell you about and you can not see from these pictures. My heart feels really good and I feel really good in general. I have lost a little more in my waist which is exactly what I was trying to do. These next 4 weeks are going to be really interesting since the workouts are a lot harder. I really haven’t lost any weight and I am not trying to. I have been eating clean probably about 85% of the time.(Damn enchiladas supremas) I do feel like I have lost some strength in my upper body since with Insanity you only use your body weight as resistance. Prior to Insanity I had completed P90X and there is more resistance training with the P90X exercises. I am actually looking forward to merging these 2 workouts and creating an Insanity/P90X hybrid.
Today was day 37 with Shaun T’s Insanity which was Max Interval Plyo. Once again this one was pretty tough. A lot more push-ups today. I have to tell you, those 30 second breaks just don’t cut it. I have always had a bad habit of taking too much time between exercises. I guess Insanity and having done P90X have helped me break this habit. It is nice to be able to pop in a DVD and just get it done. It’s very different than going to the gym and waiting around for machines and shooting the breeze with other people there. P90X was the first workout DVD I have ever done and now Insanity is the second and I have to say that I really prefer this method over trying to find time to drive to the gym. It really is amazing how challenging these workouts are. If you are looking to push yourself then you should really give Insanity your attention for the next 60 days.
Day 36 with Shaun T’s Insanity is Max Interval Circuit and I had to do my 3rd fit test. Let me tell you something, this one is the hardest so far. Maybe it is because you take your fit test before doing Max Interval Circuit and the fit test is a hard workout in itself. We do thin one again on Friday so I will be able to tell if it is a little more bearable without the fit test. Don’t get me wrong. This is an awesome, challenging workout. If you need to you can slow down, not jump as high or not go as fast. This workout is about 60 minutes which is about 10 minutes longer than the previous workouts and you can really feel those extra minutes. They last forever. I actually thought about lifting some weights before this workout but I am glad I didn’t. That would of left me with not enough energy to really bring the intensity with this workout. It is later in the day now and I could could probably fit some sets in but I am going to wait since I am not sure how hard tomorrow is going to be.
Here are the results of my 3rd fit test with Shaun T’s Insanity:
Switch Kicks: 71
Power Jacks: 59
Power Knees: 122
Power Jumps: 63
Globe Jumps: 13
Suicide Jumps: 24
Push-Up Jacks: 43
Low Plank Obliques: 90
I improved in every exercise over my first Insanity fit test and second Insanity fit test except for the globe jumps which stayed the same. Those are pretty tough but I hope to get to at least 15 with those.
Day 33 with Shaun T’s Insanity is still core cardio and balance. I know I said I wasn’t going to write anymore about this workout since it is the same all week but I wanted to let everyone know how I was feeling. This workout is feeling really easy now. I can get through this with no problem at all and I am looking forward to the start of next week where the workouts are supposed to get a little more intense. I know there is nothing easy about Insanity but you definitely get a break with this recovery week. One more day of this and then a break on Sunday and then Monday starts with another fit test and Max Interval Circuit. For some reason the work “Max” in these upcoming workouts is scaring me. I know they are a little longer but can they really be that much harder? Guess we will find out in 3 days. At least I know I am ready for the challenge.
If you are wondering if you are ready for Insanity and have questions feel free to ask in the comments section below and I would be happy to share what I know about Insanity with you.
I was reading an interesting article about lettuce today and then I checked out a recent consumer report article on lettuce and cringed after. Why? Because if you use bagged lettuce, (which we do) then there might be some not so clean things inside. According to the consumer report’s, 39% of the bagged lettuce tested exceeded the acceptable level for coliforms and 23% for enterococcus.
Now I don’t know about you but since I have been following the P90X nutrition plan and the Insanity nutrition plan, I have been eating a lot more chicken salads. Yes, there is bagged lettuce in my salad and the thought of that bacteria doesn’t sit to well with me now. Guess we will have to start buying a whole head of lettuce or rinse the heck out of the begged lettuce. I don’t even want to imagine how this bacteria gets into a bag of lettuce but I’m sure it’s not pretty. Would it be to early for a Xmas wish in February? All I want for Xmas is “bacteria free” lettuce. Is that too much to ask?
Day 29 with Shaun T’s Insanity is Core Cardio and Balance and I must say it wasn’t too bad. Probably because this week is a recovery week. We do the same workout six times this week. When I say this workout wasn’t that bad, don’t get me wrong, it is still a workout just not as hard as the previous workouts. This workout feels good for a recovery workout and my body could use some rest so I’ happy. I am even going to lay off the weights this week as well and take it easy. For someone just starting out this workout would be a good one for you until you can work your way up to the others.
I have been reading about the next group of workouts and it sounds like the next 4 weeks are going to be even tougher then the past 4 weeks. Geez, sounds like fun. I am getting tired just thinking about it. That’s OK though, I’m up for the challenge. These Insanity workouts are really feeling good. It is a great feeling every time I finish one up. I am not going to bore you with posting about the same workout every day but I will take some Insanity 30 day results pictures tomorrow or the next day. I am not expecting to see any huge changes since I was already in pretty good shape and I didn’t want to lose any weight but we will see. That’s the nice thing about pictures, they never lie.(unless you are a photoshop guru)
Day 26 with Shaun T’s Insanity is Pure Cardio and Cardio abs and let me tell you, pure cardio is exactly that. I think it should be called pure non-stop crazy cardio. You get a little break yesterday and then you are right back at these heart pumping exercises once again. I felt really good today and had every intention of also hitting some weights after Insanity but I just couldn’t do it. I was wiped out. I will try and get some weight lifting in tomorrow after Plyometric cardio circuit.
I have been eating really good this last week and I can really feel the difference. Don’t forget about the Elite Nutrition Plan that comes with Insanity. Proper nutrition accounts for half of your results so don’t sabotage your success. Stick to the meal plan.
I found this video online and I wish Beachbody could incorporate it into some of their workout videos. A little old school “House of Pain”. This is exactly how Insanity goes, So get out ya seat and jump around!
Day 25 with Shaun T’s Insanity is Cardio Recovery and just like I said yesterday it is still pretty tough. My heart might not have been pumping as hard as the other workouts but let me tell you, my legs were burning. Holding those squats is pretty tough. Cardio recovery reminds me a little bit of P90X Yoga X but not quite as long. This workout’s timing was pretty good since I really didn’t feel like doing anything today but it’s only about 35 minutes so I sucked it up. 35 more days to go. No problem. I will just have to suck it up on those days that I don’t feel like working out. They are few and far between so I’m not to concerned. As long as I don’t go out drinking I should be just fine. Like I mentioned in an earlier post it is no fun doing Insanity after a night of drinking a few beers.
So if your ready for a challenge Insanity is for you.
Professional baseball player and second baseman for the Atlanta Braves Martin Prado said in a recent interview that he did P90X in the off season to get ready for his upcoming season. He dropped 14 pounds and said he wanted to be quick and have more range at second base.
“For me to be quick, to have more range playing second, it’s something important that every player has to have. And to be successful, it’s important to be comfortable and quick,” said Prado. “I felt like last year there were a couple of ground balls to my right hand and left hand, I felt like I should’ve taken those ground balls in front of me and I was trying to reach. I think I will gain a couple of pounds by the time the season starts. I think I will be at my right weight and be ready to go.”
This is now the second Atlanta Brave that I know of who has completed P90X. The first being Matt Diaz who has done P90X during the 2009 and 2008 off season. What does this say about P90X? Well, I don’t want to sound like I am beating this subject to death but P90X gets results. Plain and simple. Results! If you follow the plan you will see and feel results. Think about the gyms and trainers these professional athletes have access to, yet they still are doing P90x. I would venture to say they are probably doing other things as well but just to know that they have some love for p90X is a great thing. To think you can get the same training that these athletes do for only $119 bucks is amazing. Maybe even a steal. So what are you way for? Just click on the picture below and start your 90 days with P90X. Your body will thank you.
Day 24 with Shaun T’s Insanity is Plyometric Cardio Circuit. I did do some weight lifting before Insanity and I think that made this workout really tough. I was really dragging today and it seemed harder than usual. I still finished and felt pretty good afterward. After eating pretty bad last week I know I have to get back to the program so I have been eating pretty good this week. No Pizza, no white rice, no beer (yet), I did have some popcorn but that’s not too bad. Been eating mostly chicken and for breakfast I have an egg white sandwich on a wheat muffin. I also had some protein cereal with a banana today. It was pretty good. I was surprised since it had 10 grams of protein in it. I wasn’t sure how it was going to taste but I guess the banana helped in that area. I have also been drinking my greenberry Shakeology. This is an awesome drink with a very exotic taste. Forget the latte from Starbucks, I’ll take my Shakeology any day. Tomorrow is Cardio Recovery which to me is kind of a funny name and a little misleading. You think you are in for a break but then you find out this is just as hard as the others. All well, guess I have to dig deep.
