P90X Lean Work Out Schedule

P90X Lean Work Out ScheduleP90X Lean Work Out Schedule

If you would like to try P90X, P90x2, P90X3 FREE for 30 days be sure to check out our Beachbody On Demand Streaming.

When deciding to purchase the P90X exercise program most people do not know that there are 3 different versions you can do when you get your P90X.  You can do P90X Classic (which is what I always suggest), P90X Lean or P90X Doubles.  What I want to talk about today is the P90X Lean work out schedule. First off, don’t let the name fool you. The P90X lean version is not designed to make you leaner but it is a stripped down or more lean version of P90X.  P90X Lean is slightly less intense and is a more cardio based schedule. Make no mistake, the Lean version of P90X is still tough and you will work hard for three weeks and then have a recovery week. Personally I prefer P90X Classic version because I always tell people that you can modify the moves as you go.  That is the great thing about P90X. If you can only do 5 push ups then you do 5 push ups.  If you can’t do any pull ups then you use a chair to assist you.  There are always modifications. Of course if you would like to start with the P90X Lean work out schedule and the move on to the P90X Classic schedule after your first 90 days then you can always do that.

P90X Lean Work Out Schedule

Weeks 1, 2 and 3

Day 1 – Core Synergistics

Day 2 – Cardio X

Day 3 – Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X

Day 4 – Yoga X

Day 5 – Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X

Day 7 – Rest or X Stretch

Week 4 (P90X Lean Workout Recovery Week)

Day 2 – Core Synergistics

Day 3 – Kenpo X

Day 4 – X Stretch

Day 5 – Cardio X

Day 6 – Yoga X

Day 7 – Rest or X Stretch

Now for weeks 5, 6 and 7, the schedule is the same as weeks 1, 2 and 3 with ONE exception on day 3:

Day 3 – Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, Ab Ripper X

Week 8 (Recovery P90X Lean Workout)

Again, same as week 4, with ONE exception on day 5:

Day 5 – Core Synergistics

Phase Three – Weeks 9 and 11

Day 1 – Chest and Back, Ab Ripper X

Day 2 – Cardio X

Day 3 – Shoulders and Arms, Ab Ripper X

Day 5 – Core Synergistics

Day 6 – Kenpo X

The Final Week (Week 13)

Day 2 – Core Synergistics

Always remember one thing, P90X is a program you can do for life so don’t be afraid to do the P90X lean schedule and then do the P90X classic schedule after that. Heck, you could even take it a step further and do P90X doubles too if you want. There is no limit to what you can do with P90X.

Is P90X the Best Work Out Program?

Is P90X the best work out?Is P90X the best work out program? Inquiring minds want to know. Let me start by saying this, the word “BEST” is relative. What you think is the best work I might hate and what I think is the best work out program you only might want to do once in a while. Personally, for me, the P90X exercise program is definitely the best  work out program. Now don’t get me wrong. I have also done Shaun T’s Insanity, Asylum, P90X2, some RevAbs, P90X One on One work outs and my favorite was P90X. Actually, having done multiple work outs has really allowed me to create a hybrid which is the best work out for me.  Now I mix P90X2, P90X, Asylum, Insanity and some running all together for my own little hybrid. Mixing it up will keep your work outs exciting. The key is to make your work outs a habit and do something that you will be able to continue for the rest of your life. Will I ever do any other work outs? Of course I will.  Beachbody keeps coming out with new work outs that keep getting more and more challenging and for me that is the name of the game. Keep myself challenged.  I’ll do a program for the full 90 days even if I am not crazy about it because I am sure there is something that I can learn from it and something I will be be able to incorporate into what I do every day. When I did Insanity I went through and did the entire 60 says and I enjoyed those work outs but extreme cardio is not something I want to do every day.  I need my weights so incorporated some Insanity work outs into my regiment and replaced a few P90X work outs with Insanity work outs. When Asylum was released, I went through and did the full 30 days of that program. Then I mixed in some of those Asylum work outs with my P90X regiment. I go back and forth but the key is I have options. I have made this a habit and I feel great every day because of it.

I guess the real question should be…. is P90X the best work out program for you? Of course I know you will get results but you might like a cardio based work out better and then Insanity might fit you better.  Maybe you are just getting started and you want something a little milder like Slim in 6. Maybe you are looking to really enhance your sports performance then I would have to lean towards P90X2. Looking for low impact then you might want Tai Cheng.  We have such a broad range of work outs that there is something for everyone and guess what?  If you want to do another one after you finish your first program then you have that option too. Make it a habit and keep it fresh.

What is the Most Important Piece of Equipment you Need for P90X?

P90X MindsetWhat is the Most Important Piece of Equipment you Need for P90X?

Breaking news: You can now “try” P90X FREE for 30 days with our Beachbody On Demand. You will also get the P90X Nutrition Guide as well. You will also have access to other workouts like P90X, Insanity, TurboFire, Brazil Butt Lift, T25, 21 Day Fix Extreme, P90X One on One’s and many others. (great value)

I have done a post before titled “What equipment do need to do P90X?’ but I don’t think I really covered what the most important piece of equipment is that you will need. MINDSET! That’s right, the most important piece of equipment you will need costs nothing and all you might have to do is tune it in. I have seen so many people buy treadmills, shake weights, gym memberships, gadgets, work out programs and for some reason they never get anywhere. Why? Mindset.  I really don’t think people understand what it really takes to change. I can tell you one thing, it definitely takes more than a week.  So many people go into a new work out regiment with the “I’ll give this a try” attitude and think they are going to succeed.  My first round of P90X I made up my mind before I even received the work outs that nothing was going to get in the way of the hour I needed to put in each day for the next 90 days. Guess what? I did not miss one work out.  Now I understand life happens and things will come up but that is not an excuse to quit.  If you miss a work out, so what. Just don’t make a habit of it. If you miss 2 or more P90X work outs repeat that week.  This simple formula will take you a long way.

Most people think it is the pull up bar, push-up stands or the dumbbells that are the most important piece of equipment when starting P90X but I always ask how many times have you been to someones house and seen their tread mill used as a clothes hanger?  Work outs that have not even been opened and just collecting dust.? Gym memberships that haven’t been used in months? I see it all the time.  Before you decide on a program you need to get in the right frame of mind.  Decide you really want this.  Make your commitment and you will succeed.  You might not be able to do any pull ups when you start, you might only be able to do 2 push ups when you start, you might not be able to finish Ab Ripper or P90X Plyometrics but just show up every day and you will amaze yourself with the results you will see over the next 90 days.

P90X Fitness Test

p90x fitness testP90X fitness test.  So I am guessing you are either getting ready to start P90X or are about to buy P90X and you are wondering about the P90X fitness test and if you meet the minimum requirement to start the P90X workouts.  Well, you have come to the right place.  You will find a ton of information on this site about P90X and hopefully you will get all of your questions answered.  One of the biggest misconceptions about P90X is that yo have to be in tip-top shape before you begin P90X, well I am here to tell you that is not true.  You should have a fitness base before you begin but P90X is designed to get you into great shape. The reason P90X works so well is you can modify all of the movements.  let me give you an example, pull-ups, they are tough and a lot of people can’t even do 1 pull-up. Does that mean that you can’t do P90X? Of course not. You just have to modify.  Basically you would do pull-ups with 1 foot on a chair, use the pull-up assist or use bands ti simulate pull-ups.  By the end of the program you will be surprised at how strong you get and how much you improve.

The P90X fitness test is going to be used to establish a base of where you are starting but will also make sure that you can meet some basic skills and some minimum requirements and then you will also be able to track your improvements.  We will get to the P90X fitness test in a second but right now I want you to go and create a free Team Beachbody account and this way you will have me to help you along the way if you ever have any questions, be able to track your progress, enter our drawing to win $500 every day just for logging in your P90X workout and you will also be able to enter in your before statistics to track your progress.

Remember, it is not important where you start, where you finish is what counts and the fact that you are here right now reading this tells me that you are ready to finish and finish well.

What’s the Difference Between P90X and P90X2?

What’s the difference between P90X and P90X2?  Truth is, I don’t really know all of the specific details yet but I do know a few things.  I know that the P90X 2 Yoga work out is only an hour long as opposed to 1 1/2 hours in P90X.  Most people will like this fact as a lot of people thought that was too long.  The reason I know this is because I already did the work out.  No, I don’t have the whole P90X2 program yet but were able to do the P90X2 Yoga work out at the 2011 Beachbody Leadership Conference.  I do know that P90X2  was created to increase athletic performance.  P90X2 will be similar to P90X in the fact that it will use resistance training, plyometrics, yoga and cardio training but will also incorporate post activation potentiation which stimulates all kinds of things to increase athleticism.

Better yet, until I get my hands on it and can review every work out I think it would be best to here straight from Tony Horton. So check out the video below to listen to Tony tell you what’s the difference between P90X and P90X2.
