P90X Plyometrics is Too Hard | P90X Plyometrics Tips

P90X Plyometrics Too Hard?So your on day 2 with P90X and you are finding out that P90X plyometrics is too hard for you to complete.  What should you do?  I can give you an easy answer but it might not work for everyone because you also have to push yourself.  Go at your own pace.  If you don’t have a heart rate monitor get one.  This will help you stay in your target zone.  If your heart rate starts going to high then kick it down a notch.

Follow Pam.  She does modified moves and often steps when everyone else is jumping.  You will slowly work your way up to completing these moves like Tony and the rest of the gang.

Here are some further modifications for P90X plyometrics:

Jump Squats: Don’t jump, take the impact out and just go to your toes or take a tiny jump.

Run Stance Squats: Do a step move instead of jumping. Don’t squat as low if you are getting tired.

Airborne Heisman: This is a low impact move but the higher you bring your legs the more impact you will have so just keep your steps low to make it easier.

Swing Kicks: Instead of a stool use something shorter.  You can always work your way up to a stool or chair.

Squat/Reach/Jump : These are tough any way you slice it but to modify don’t go too low and just go to your toes instead of jumping.

Squat Switch Pickups: Just like Run Stance Squats, just do a step instead of leaving the ground.

Double Airborne Heisman: This is a low impact move but the higher you bring your legs the more impact you will have so just keep your steps low to make it easier. (just like the airborne Heisman)

Circle Run: You can do this at your own pace if you are getting. More energy? Speed up.  Feeling drained? Slow it down.

Jump Knee Tuck: This one is tough as well but what you can do is not jump as high and skip the double time.  Work yourself up to the double time and beyond.

Mary Katherine Lunges: Do a step move in stead of jumping. Just bring your back leg forward and front leg back and then switch.

Leapfrog Squats: If you have to you can step one leg at a time or take smaller hops.

Twist Combo: Don’t leave the ground to much and for the 180’s just do a step move.

Rockstar Jumps: Don’t jump as high. If they are still too hard then just do some squats.

Gap Jump: Just take a large step instead of jumping.

Jumping Jacks/Squat Jacks: Don’t squat if these are too hard and also close up your range of motion.

Military March: You should not have to modify this move it is low impact.

Run Squat 180 Jump Switch: Keep your butt up and don’t go too low. Also do a step move instead of a jump.

Lateral Leapfrog Squats: Just follow Tony when he is doing the modified move. It’s not too tough.

Monster Truck Tires: Just like the Heisman’s just don’t jump too high and take smaller steps.

Hot foot: These could tricky so just do the jump rope move. I say if a guy with one leg can do it then I can do it.

BONUS ROUND:

Pitch and Catch: Just do it.  Low impact.

Jump Shot: Just raise your toes and don’t leave the ground.

Football Hero: Once again you can step instead of jumping.

That is all there is to it.  Remember for the best results you really have to “Bring” the intensity but you must listen to your body.  An injury will do you no good on your fitness journey. You can also check out some P90X FAQ’s here.
